Behind the Build: The Cottages at Wharf's End
These lakefront cottages serve as a cherished summer retreat for our clients, offering a peaceful escape nestled within the majestic New Hampshire Lakes Region. The property, set along the serene bay of Lake Winnipesaukee, features three charming cottages that capture the timeless beauty and relaxed spirit of lakeside living.
Since purchasing the property several years ago, our clients have envisioned a thoughtful refresh—one that would honor the character of the original compound while enhancing its comfort and functionality for future generations. Working in collaboration with TMS Architects, this vision is now being brought to life.
The reimagined property will continue to feature three cottages; however, one of the existing structures has been carefully removed to make way for a brand-new cottage. This new addition will provide a more expansive gathering space, multiple bedrooms for guests, and a seamless connection to the surrounding natural landscape—creating a perfect balance between tradition and modern lakefront living.
Progress continues on the renovation of this original cottage on the property. Through the addition of a second floor, this will offer plenty of space for the summertime guests and complement the design of the future new cottage.
